Maintaining Linseed Oil Painted Surfaces with Linseed Oil Wax is Easy and Inexpensive

Linseed oil wax is made from linseed oil and bees wax. The wax is used as a surface protector on unpainted, varnished or painted wooden surfaces. We recommend rejuvenating Linseed Oil Paint surfaces with a coat of maintenance wax after 5-10 years.

Ideal for protecting exterior hardwoods.

The wax is easy to apply with a sponge or cloth. The surface should be clean and dry. 1 litre of Linseed Oil Wax covers approximately 40 sq. metres (430 sqft) depending on surface conditions.

Beautiful again! These oak doors were restored using Raw Linseed Oil & Linseed Oil Wax.

Applying Linseed Oil Wax.

Linseed Oil Wax gives outstanding protection for exterior Linseed Oil Painted surfaces. May be used on all surfaces from floors to carpentry. This door demonstrates how you may bring the color back to a surface painted 10 years ago.

Suitable for use on wooden work surfaces, furniture, garden furniture, wooden decks, windows and doors.

  1. Clean the wood surface with linseed oil soap and rinse with water. Allow the surface to dry. If necessary, remove old paint or varnish with infrared heat (Swedish Spotheater). Buff with medium steel-wool to get a smooth surface.
  2. Apply a coat of heated, cleaned, boiled Linseed Oil. Lukewarm is sufficient. Allow the surface to dry. Heated linseed oil has a thinner viscosity and will penetrate into the wood deeper and faster. Allow the surface to dry a few days.
  3. Apply the Linseed Maintenance Wax with a green pad, natural brush or lint free cloth.
  4. Wait approximately 2 hours.
  5. Polish the surface with a cloth. Repeat the application after a few days if you desire.
  6. NOTE: As rags and paper soaked with Linseed Oil can spontaneously combust please dispose of them carefully after first soaking in water.

For better protection we recommend two coats of wax on items subject to the weather. Please allow at least a week between coats to give the wax a chance to cure. The result is a rich and saturated wood surface that will shield the wood and provide protection for a long time.

Binder: Allback Purified Linseed Oil and beeswax.
Drier: Manganese Siccative.

Preserving Old Wood Floors: Using the linseed oil wax to preserve old wood floors is an important application for this product. Instructions: Clean the floors with Linseed Oil Soap EXTRA . Rinse with water and let the surface dry. Apply the clear or the colored linseed oil wax. Very strong and easy to maintain without chemicals. No odor and fast drying.

Protecting Car/Truck Tires: Organic Linseed oil wax is ideal for protecting car and truck tires. It will preserve the color and maintain the rubber like no other product. Most chemical products from an auto store for maintaining your tires actually destroy rubber and ultimately shorten the life of your tires. Go Green for your car and truck and protect the environment. Read the full case study.
